Greetings, Admirals.
This is the Lead Producer of Gunship Battle Total Warfare, Ja-ram Jeon.
These days, the advent of autumn has brought about many changes, cool air, myriad of colors, and we are sensing a change in the wind that will be felt on the battlefield as well.
In this Development Note, we would like to introduce the Tournament Evaluation Match intended to make World League more active, as well as updates on the Blitz Defense expansion, both of which address the numerous requests we have received from our Admirals.
[Tournament Evaluation Match]
For Admirals around the world, the ongoing WLS1 is one of GBTW’s most important competitive features.
With each iteration of our tournament calendar, our team dove headlong into scheduling, and with as many instances as possible,
tried to minimize the holiday, world events and more (as noted below),
which would have otherwise, heavily impacted global player availability and eventually, match results. With an overabundance of caution,
we scheduled a stable, four-week match schedule.
In hindsight and confirmed with the feedback provided by our tournament players,
tournament scheduling is something we need to revisit.
However, while the team builds out the calendar for our next tournament, we’d like to introduce a new feature,
the Tournament Evaluation Match, this brand-new feature is designed to serve as a type of World War preliminary match.
This will be a time to enhance strategies and an interim showdown brought about to keep the competitive spirit alive in between each of the WLS1 Rounds.
Since the current system allows you to evaluate your Combat Power and playbook,
it will help your Alliance coordinate teamwork and tactics—and establish more refined strategies for the next WLS1.
Furthermore, the Tournament Evaluation Match will use a 1:1:1 format instead of the existing 1:1 structure.
You will be matched with Servers outside your Division and encounter Alliances with different strategies,
enabling you to explore a wider range of tactical possibilities.
A separate event will also be held to commemorate the Evaluation Match, so please look forward to it.
Rewards will be distributed just before each round, allowing you to replenish the Resources needed or replenish any forces before the next World League match.
The Evaluation Match is designed to offer both an opportunity to prepare for the upcoming WLS1 matches and obtain rewards to support your progress.
We also plan on improving the system so that future regular tournaments can proceed without interruption except during the later rounds—and even if a round does not take place due to the need to establish reasonable accommodations, we will provide event matches to stabilize the schedule.
I would like to extend my very heartfelt appreciation to all our Admirals for your feedback. We will continue to prepare thoroughly and refine the system so that the Evaluation Match becomes content that not only enhances the overall World League experience but offer competitive content that our Admirals look forward to playing.

[Blitz Defense Event]
Since the addition of Level 80 Blitz Defense in June 2024,
Admirals have become stronger, and the number of successful defenses continues to grow,
resulting in requests for max level expansion of Blitz Defense.
While the actual expansion is being planned for the first half of next year, a dedicated Blitz Defense Event will be held in December.
The Blitz Defense Event, currently in development, will feature more waves than the existing 10,
and since the number of waves will increase, pacing of each wave will be adjusted to be faster than before.
This Blitz Defense Event will follow a faster-paced structure. Incorporating new tactics and teamwork with your Alliance will be the key to successful defense against as many waves as possible.
We are also designing the system so that rewards will increase as you clear more waves,
and we are hard at work, making adjustments to establish a worthwhile sense of accomplishment about your growth and to enhance overall reward satisfaction.
We ask for your patience as we navigate the implementation of the upcoming content, we want to do this right,
and have our Admirals experience a more challenging and engaging version of Blitz Defense.
All feedback is valuable. We are all ears, so please continue to share your thoughts and we will do our best to provide a more enjoyable,
competitive battlefield.

Thank you.
