Greetings, Admirals.
I am Ja-ram Jeon, the Lead Producer of Gunship Battle Total Warfare.
We’re excited to share details about the September update which has been heavily influenced by the valuable feedback you shared through
our recent Developer Q&A.
In this Dev Note, we will be going over the World Boss revamp, QoL improvements, and the new PvE feature, Project Abyss Walker.
[World Boss – Brand-New Look]
The World Boss has quickly become a fan-favorite feature ever since its first appearance on March 11, 2021.
For nearly 5 years the World Boss encounter has remained relatively unchanged, and many Admirals have expressed the need for an update.
In response, we have decided to make changes to the World Boss for an even more enjoyable gameplay experience.
First and foremost, the appearance of the World Boss will now be different depending on the World.
In addition to these visual changes, changes to the combat system will be applied.
Server-wide buffs will be removed, and rewards will now be distributed based on individual buff purchases.
This change is expected to instill a sense of weight on the efforts of the personal strategies applied by each, participating Admiral vs a Server-wide benefit.
Manual and auto attack methods will be combined into a “Launch Aircraft Carrier Attack”,
a feature function similar to the “Carrier Deployed Air Strike” from Armada Strike Group,
allowing continuous attacks until a return order is issued.
Combat will only be possible when an Aircraft Carrier is deployed in the vicinity of the World Boss.
Defense codes for missile defense must still be activated by clicking manually, but the time until attack will be increased to 3 seconds,
making successful defense easier.
The World Boss Air Strike system will also be revamped. Previously, the gauge for Air Strike was filled based on Alliance activity.
With the next update, the gauge will be filled based on Server-wide contributions, enabling more powerful air strikes.
Furthermore, rewards will differ by World, and time until appearance will be shortened, allowing faster and more dynamic battles.
[Armada's Rise - Project Abyss Walker]
A new weapon created by the Armada using its latest technology has been detected!
“Project Abyss Walker” will spawn at random locations in Central Sea every Thursday 00:00 UTC to Friday 24:00 UTC.
To celebrate the addition of this new feature, for a limited time, the Project Abyss Walker will spawn daily.
Daily spawns will start from September 24th update until the following maintenance.
“Project Abyss Walker” will be open 4 times each day, with each time slot lasting 3 hours.
Each Admiral can attack up to 5 times during each slot.
For a more detailed schedule, please refer to the chart below.
Ships, Jets, and Heroes can all be deployed when attacking, and rest assured, deployed units will not sustain any damage.
There will be a total of three types of rewards:
Attack Rewards: Rewards are given based on the number of daily attacks.
Performance Rewards: Rewards are given based on the highest individual damage inflicted.
Ranking Rewards: Rewards are given based on daily ranking by total damage inflicted.
To ensure balanced progression while also encouraging a more competitive environment,
Servers that have been created for 63 days or less will receive different rewards from those older than 64 days.
[Other World League Improvements]
Several Server and World functions will also be improved with this update.
The Server search function will now allow searching across different Worlds, broadening opportunities for interaction and competition.
Kill Point Missions will now count even during Server Invasion to another World, ensuring accurate records of challenges and achievements.
Lastly, during Server Invasion, the World Map will now display active participants at glance, allowing faster and more intuitive strategic decisions.
[New Aircraft Carrier Module Buffs]
New changes will be made to Aircraft Carrier Modules as well.
Normal to Rare Aircraft Carriers will receive new common Modules, encouraging their use.
Legendary grade Carriers will receive new exclusive, defense-focused Modules, strengthening strategic defensive operations.
The new Modules can be upgraded by consuming Food, increasing versatility of Resources and diversifying growth strategies.
* John F. Kennedy Aircraft Carrier will not receive new Modules in this update.
[Event Center Integration]
Events and mission UIs will be streamlined for easier use.
EVENT, Event Center, and Mission icons will be added into a single EVENT tab.
Combing all three into the EVENT page will allow players to check all Events as well as Mission progress at once
A new “Receive All” button will be added to make reward collection easier and faster.
Thank you to all Admirals who have taken their time to provide valuable feedback.
We hope this update has addressed your concerns for ab improved gameplay experience.
